Adoption Statement - Minerals Local Plan for Staffordshire (2015 – 2030)

Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004

Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

Adoption Statement - Minerals Local Plan for Staffordshire (2015 - 2030)

In accordance with Regulations 26 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, notice is hereby given that the Minerals Local Plan for Staffordshire (2015 - 2030) was adopted by Staffordshire County Council on the 16 February 2017.

The Plan identifies land for mineral working and provides planning policies that will be used to determine planning applications for minerals development during the period up to 2030, replacing policies saved from the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Minerals Local Plan 1994 to 2006.

Following examination by an independent Planning Inspector, a report was received by Staffordshire County Council on the 25th November 2016 that confirmed that subject to modifications, the Plan could be adopted. The adopted Plan includes the Planning Inspector’s recommended modifications.

Any person aggrieved by the adoption of the Minerals Local Plan for Staffordshire (2015 - 2030) may make an application under Section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to the High Court on the grounds that the document is not within the appropriate powers and/or a procedural requirement has not been complied with. Any such application must be made no later than the end of the six week period starting with the date of adoption.

Copies of the Minerals Local Plan, Appendices, the Sustainability Appraisal Report and the Planning Inspector’s report are available to view online via the Council’s website (www.staffordshire.gov.uk/minerals) (note that IT facilities are available at the Council’s libraries) and can be viewed at the County Council’s office at: No. 1 Staffordshire Place, Stafford ST16 2LP.
