Family hubs groupwork

Parenting can be challenging, and children don’t come with an instruction manual. That’s why Family Hubs offer free groupwork courses to help you support your child’s development.

Who the courses are for

  • Adults aged 19 and over
  • Living in Staffordshire
  • Interested in learning about parenting and child development

Courses run for 6 weeks and are delivered either face-to-face or online.

Available courses

From Pram to Primary School (0–11 years)

Learn how children grow and develop, and how to support their behaviour through play and communication.

Topics include:

  • Parenting styles
  • Communicating with your child
  • Emotional development

Talking Teens (Secondary age)

Support your teenager with confident parenting and clear boundaries.

Topics include:

  • Parenting styles
  • Communicating with your teen
  • Emotional development

Simply Play for Babies (0–12 months)

Stay and Play sessions with sensory play and early language activities.

Topics include:

  • Weaning
  • Emotional development
  • Early communication

Simply Play (0–4 years)

Stay and Play sessions to support development through everyday play.

Topics include:

  • Physical development
  • Emotional development
  • Early communication
