Supervision & resolving issues

Regular supervision helps maintain a positive working relationship and prevents problems from escalating. It’s also an opportunity to review performance, discuss training needs, and make sure your Personal Assistant (PA) feels supported.

Supervision

  • Meet every 3–6 months (or more often if needed).
  • Encourage open and honest discussion about what’s working well and what could improve.
  • Record the meeting notes for future reference – this protects both you and your PA.

Resolving issues

Having clear policies in place helps everyone understand what to do if something goes wrong:

  • Disciplinary policy – for issues like lateness, poor performance, or misconduct.
  • Grievance policy – so your PA can raise concerns safely and fairly.
