Supportive Communities Training

Supportive Communities Training, delivered free by Support Staffordshire, offers a mix of face‑to‑face, online and recorded sessions to help people build the skills and confidence to maximise independence.

Strength-Based Conversations: Helping people to recognise their strengths Training

This training is open to everybody in Staffordshire, particularly voluntary sector organisations, adult social care staff and wider partners.

This is a 1 hour 30 minute online session. A recorded video of the training is also available.

The session will:

  • Define the strengths-based approach.
  • Explain the principles of the strengths-based approach.
  • Identify the advantages and disadvantages of this approach.
  • Explore tools and techniques that can be used in a strengths-based approach, including asset mapping.
  • Examine the resources in your community that can support strengths-based working.
  • Describe how you would embed a strengths-based approach within your organisation.

Once you’ve watched it, please email training@supportstaffordshire.org.uk to obtain a course evaluation, and once completed a certificate and the presentation slides will then be emailed to you.
