Staffordshire County Council’s enterprise centres have continued to support business growth across the county, welcoming 36 new businesses in 2025 and seeing a significant rise in demand for flexible workspace.
Latest figures show that the council now supports 261 businesses across its eight enterprise centres in Stafford, Burton, Cannock Chase and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The centres provide a range of affordable offices, workshops and industrial units, alongside bookable meeting rooms and hot desks available to anyone who needs professional space to work.
Demand for flexible working facilities has grown sharply, with meeting room and hot desk bookings increasing by a third during 2025. In response, the council recently expanded its hot desk offer to Waterside Court Enterprise Centre in Burton, ensuring more remote workers, freelancers and small businesses can access high-quality workspace close to home.
The county council's enterprise centres are designed to support start-ups, growing businesses and established companies alike, offering short-term and flexible contracts that allow tenants to upsize or downsize as their needs change.
Martin Murray, Staffordshire County Council’s Acting Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said:
“We’re proud to see so many businesses choosing to grow and invest in Staffordshire through our enterprise centres.
