Cannock Chase Summer Fair NEWSROOM

Staffordshire County Council's rangers making preparations for the long-awaited Cannock Chase Summer Fair.

Cannock Chase is set to come alive this weekend as the long-awaited Summer Fair makes its grand return after a six-year hiatus.

The event, run by Staffordshire County Council, is the first Cannock Chase Summer Fair to happen since before the pandemic.

For one day only, the Cannock Chase Visitor Centre on Marquis Drive will be bursting with colour and laughter on Sunday 17 August, from 10.30am to 3pm.

There will be funfair rides for children and a vibrant mix of market stalls selling local honey, handmade crafts, refreshments, dog treats, unique accessories and so much more.

Entry to the event is free for all, but visitors are encouraged to bring cash as not all vendors can take card payments.

Hayley Coles, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said:

“We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to the Cannock Chase Summer Fair after such a long break.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day full of fun and the chance to enjoy everything our wonderful local community has to offer. Whether you’re here for the rides, the stalls or just a great day out in the fresh air, there’s something for everyone and we can’t wait to see you there."

Hayley added:

“As we get to enjoy another week of lovely sunshine, please remember to wear suncream and keep children and pets hydrated so everyone can enjoy the event safely.

“Please also help us to protect our beautiful landscapes by keeping barbecues off the Chase and binning your litter.”
