Highways improvements in Keele to start this week

Improvements in the Keele area will start 2 July
A highways improvement scheme on the A525 Keele Road at the Barnes Hall Road Junction in Keele will start on Wednesday 2 July.
The works are being carried out by Staffordshire County Council and are expected to take five days to complete. Work will include the resurfacing of the road which will be carried out overnight from 7pm to 6am. The road will be closed during the works to make sure work can be done safely, and a diversion will be in place via the A51 and A53.
The scheme comes ahead of major junction improvements later in the year to accommodate the new housing development.
Peter Mason, Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways at Staffordshire County Council said:
“This is an important scheme for the area and the university and needs to be done ahead of some major junction improvements planned for later in the year.
“Crews will be doing most of the resurfacing work overnight to help minimise any disruption. This means that the road will be closed at nighttime and a diversion will be in place. As with all our highways schemes, it’s vital we get them done and we appreciate people’s co-operation during works.”
