People looking to develop their skills and increase their opportunities are being urged to find out more about the extensive range of learning options open to them at a free series of drop-in events run by the county council.
The Staffordshire Adult Learning and Skills Festival will see events and adult learning taster sessions taking place from March 18 to 22.
Through interactive activities and taster sessions, attendees can explore diverse skill-building opportunities tailored for personal enjoyment, career advancement, or starting a new business venture.
The festival will feature free workshops and sessions covering digital skills, family learning, wellbeing, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and more. The Staffordshire Community Learning team will be on hand, along with tutors, learners, and employers to provide guidance on enhancing employability and developing essential soft skills.
Staffordshire County Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and skills Philip White said:

We are opening doors for adults of all ages and backgrounds to learn new skills, whether for personal satisfaction or professional advancement. The array of courses represents our dedication to fostering a community of continuous learners.

The free events will take place in accessible venues across Staffordshire, including community centres, football clubs, and iconic locations like Stafford Shire Hall and Lichfield Cathedral. No registration is required – attendees can simply turn up at the scheduled venues and times. Each participant will receive a complimentary learning pack, and those engaging in festival activities will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 gift voucher.
This event is open to any adult Staffordshire resident, whether looking to learn new skills for personal wellbeing, career change, starting a business, or simply enjoying a new hobby. It's the perfect opportunity to explore adult learning opportunities in a supportive environment, meet inspirational tutors and learners, and get inspired to pursue lifelong learning in Staffordshire.
