Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards 2023 Winners

The county’s biggest celebration of tourism and hospitality, the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards, is now open for entries.

Organised by Enjoy Staffordshire, the county’s official tourist board, in partnership with VisitEngland and headline sponsor Staffordshire University, the awards see attractions, venues, experiences, accommodation businesses, restaurants, pubs and cafes go head-to-head in 20 categories.

Winners will progress to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024, giving them the chance to follow the success of previous national competition finalists Gladstone Pottery Museum, the National Memorial Arboretum, Duncombe Arms and Alton Towers Resort.

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire’s tourism awards and there will be two new categories businesses can enter, which recognise and celebrate the outstanding people working in the county’s tourism sector.

The new Rising Star Award which recognises an individual, aged 25 and under, who excels in their role / training and deserves to be recognised for their skills development, progression and commitment to the industry.

There is also the new Team of the Year award which will applaud a group of people working together to provide outstanding customer experiences and deliver excellence across their business.

Councillor Philip White, Deputy Leader Staffordshire County Council and Chair of Enjoy Staffordshire said:

“We’re excited to be celebrating 10 years of Staffordshire excellence as our awards competition marks its 10th anniversary in 2024, getting bigger and better every year!

“Although we already attract more entries than any other tourism awards in the West Midlands, we’d encourage any business that thinks they’ve got what it takes to win to enter.

“We will be running a couple of free webinars / workshops on 15th June and 5th July to help applicants write a winning application before the closing date.

“It’s also an opportunity for Staffordshire businesses to recognise the hard work of their teams, and the only way for them to qualify for the national awards.”

Martin Tideswell, Director of Communities and Commercial Engagement, at Staffordshire University, said:

“We are delighted to support the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards 2024. Staffordshire is fantastic place to work, live and visit. With a rich heritage, beautiful countryside and vibrant culture there really is something for everyone.

“These awards are a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators who continue to put Staffordshire on the map and make our county great.”

The awards are free to enter, and any tourism or hospitality business located in Staffordshire, including Stoke-on-Trent, can apply. All applications must be submitted online before 23:59 on Monday 31st July 2023.
