Residents are encouraged to get their Covid vaccinations before the offer ends on 30 June.
Since its launch, the Covid-19 vaccination programme has vaccinated more than 1.8 million people in Staffordshire. Anyone who has not yet come forward for their spring booster, if eligible, or first or second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, are being encouraged to get their jabs before the offer ends on Friday 30 June.
Those eligible for a spring booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine include people aged 75 or above, residents in care homes and those aged five and above with a weakened immune system. People can get their Covid vaccine by booking an appointment online via the National Booking Service, the NHS App, calling 119 or by attending a local walk-in clinic where no prior booking is needed.
Walk-in vaccine clinics will be available this month at:
- Longton Fire Station, ST3 1NS, Tuesday 20 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Penkridge Fire Station, ST19 5NU, Wednesday 21 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Burton Masonic Hall, DE15 0LA, Thursday 22 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Leek Fire Station, ST13 6LQ, Friday 23 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Biddulph Fire Station, ST8 6JN, Tuesday 27 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Lichfield Fire Station, WS13 6HU, Wednesday 28 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Kidsgrove Fire Station, ST7 1DG, Thursday 29 June, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Support Member for Public Health and Integrated Care, Paul Northcott, said:
“Getting your Covid vaccinations is the best way to ensure you are protected against the virus. As the offer to get a COVID-19 vaccine comes to an end on 30 June, I would urge those who have not yet come forward, to get vaccinated as soon as they can.
It is quick and easy to get your jab and there are loads of walk-in sites open across Staffordshire, making it easier than ever to get vaccinated. The vaccines are safe, effective, and the best way to boost your protection from serious illness caused by COVID-19 - so please do come forward for your dose of protection.”
People at higher risk of severe Covid-19 are also expected to be offered a booster vaccine dose in autumn 2023 in preparation for the winter.
