People in Staffordshire are being invited to share their views on how they travel around the county to help shape future transport plans and increase ‘green’ travel.
The Staffordshire Household Travel survey which is now live is designed to get a ‘snapshot’ of people’s daily travel habits. It focuses on questions about usual travel behaviour – walking, cycling, driving, and travelling on bus or train for everyday journeys.
The survey, which will run until July 16, should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and anyone taking part will be entered into a free cash prize draw to win up to £250. People can join #TheBigTravelChat and take part in the survey at Staffordshire’s Household Travel Survey.
David Williams, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said:
“Transport is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and as a Council, we have a commitment to reducing our carbon production and ensuring our plans for travel are as green as possible.
“We know that cycling and walking help people to lead healthier and happier lives. However, active travel also helps to reduce congestion on our busy roads.
“We want to boost active and sustainable travel across Staffordshire, and we’re keen to understand the daily travel habits and barriers, to improve routes and transport options for people. I would encourage everyone to take part in the survey to help us to make Staffordshire a cleaner and greener place to live, work and visit.”
Staffordshire County Council declared a climate change emergency in 2019, committing to supporting Staffordshire to achieve net zero by 2050.
