Olympic Gold and a Place in the History Books for Staffordshire's Adam Peaty

People from across Staffordshire have been celebrating the news of yet another Olympic gold medal for swimming superstar Adam Peaty.
The world record holder blew away the competition in the final of the 100m breaststroke at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning Team GB’s first gold medal.
The win also gets his name in the history books as the first Briton to win back-to-back Olympic swimming titles.
The 26-year-old swimmer from Uttoxeter started his swimming career at the Dove Valley Swimming Club in the town.
Congratulating Adam on his achievements, Alan White, Leader at Staffordshire County Council said:
“Adam is a truly remarkable sportsman who continues to wow us with his amazing talent, smashing records wherever he goes.
“This is another great result for Adam and we are so proud of everything he has achieved so far, and we know he’ll continue to make us proud as his career continues.
"He’s a great role model for the sport and for young people and shows what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
"The whole of Staffordshire is rooting for him and we wish him and our other athletes all the best in the forthcoming events.”
