Maths anxiety stifled Zoe's confidence for years, but not anymore.

Posted on Friday 4th April 2025

For years, Zoe carried what she called a "badge of shame" when it came to maths. Despite having a maths qualification, she avoided numbers at all costs—shutting down, pretending to understand, and believing that maths just wasn’t for her.

Now a Teaching and Learning Advisor, Zoe realised that her fear of maths could hold her back in her career. She knew it was time to tackle her anxiety, not just for professional growth but for her own confidence.

Through Multiply, she’s discovering that maths isn’t about being "good" or "bad"—it’s about learning in a way that makes sense and meets people where they are.

“The class has been really helpful because it makes maths real,” Zoe shares. “It’s more about overcoming the fear than the maths itself.

Zoe’s journey is the latest in our Multiply Everyday Maths Success Stories series, showing how learners are overcoming their maths anxieties and gaining life-changing confidence. Over the past few weeks, we've been sharing inspiring stories from people who, like Zoe, are proving that it's never too late to tackle maths fears.

If you’ve ever felt like maths is holding you back, now is the time to break free. Watch Zoe’s video and see how Multiply can help
