Information and guidance on Covid-19

Symptoms

The NHS has information on the main symptoms of COVID-19.

Follow this guidance for people with symptoms of a respiratory infection including COVID-19.Try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you or your child have symptoms and either:

  • Have a high temperature.
  • Do not feel well enough to go to work, school, childcare, or do your normal activities.

 

Vaccinations

Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases. Read more about the Covid-19 vaccine. If you are eligible for a Covid-19 or flu vaccine, you will receive an invitation to book your appointment.

You are more at risk and therefore eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination if you are:

  • 65 or over.
  • Have a weakened immune system.
  • Are 12 or over and a household contact of someone with a weakened immune system.
  • Pregnant.
  • Living in a care home.
  • Work in a care home for older adults.
  • Are a frontline health or social care worker.
  • Are 16 and over and a carer.

Please book an appointment either online at book an appointment or by calling 119 as soon as you receive your invitation to ensure maximum protection as soon as possible. In addition, walk in clinics are also available from the Targeted Vaccination Team or you can find a walk in vaccination site such as a local pharmacy at find a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination site. 

 

Testing
