Annual Monitoring Reports are prepared to help us monitor progress in the preparation of the DPDs against the targets we set ourselves in the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme. The reports are also used to help monitor the implementation of our development plan policies.

Design and Access Statements - are required to accompany certain types of planning application. The requirements, which first came into effect in 2006, were amended in 2010 and further amended in 2013.

Regional Spatial Strategy - A Government Order to revoke the West Midlands Regional Spatial Startegy came into effect on 20th May 2013.
Regulation - the Planning Regulation team aim to ensure conditions attached to planning permissions for minerals extraction and waste disposal are met.

'Saved' policies provides the information about the Structure Plan, Minerals Local Plan and Waste Local Plan policies that have been 'saved' as part of the development plan after 28 September 2007.

Staffordshire Borough/District Councils should be contacted about all planning applications and planning policy unrelated to mineral/waste/county developments, for example residential, industrial and commercial development in their areas.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council - Planning should be contacted about all planning applications and planning policy matters in Stoke-on-Trent
Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how Staffordshire County Council consult and involve the community in policy preparation and planning decisions. The Borough/District Councils and Stoke-on-Trent City Council have their own SCI.
Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
is carried out to ensure that minerals and waste policies, and strategic site options, will not create any additional risks of flooding.
Structure Plan - the former Structure Plan set out strategic planning policies. A Government Order to revoke the Structure Plan came into effect on 20th May 2013.
Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment are carried out to determine the likely environmental, economic and social impacts of the development plan documents in order to ensure that they are as sustainable as possible. Supplementary Plan Documents (SPDs) provide additional detailed guidance to support the planning policies - they will replace SPGs.
Transport Development Control should be contacted for information about Staffordshire County Council's role as the Highway Authority for non-trunk road/non-motorway related development in Staffordshire (excluding Stoke-on-Trent).
