CX021 Structural Maintenance Work for the CO260 Elliotts Lane, Codsall

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works on the C0260 Elliotts Lane, Codsall. Works will include the replacement to the damage tactile crossings, along with the clearing of vegetation from the footways and removal of the existing carriageway ironworks and re-setting them. We will then begin the carriageway reconstruction works, this will include the removal of the existing carriageway surface and replacing it with a new surface, along with the replacement of new road markings.

Works will take place between the junction of Yew Tree Gardens and Watery Lane.

Daytime road closures will be in place on sections of Elliotts Lane, Sandy Lane and Bilbrook Road, during the surfacing phase of the scheme. Works will take place from Tuesday 28 May to Saturday 1 June between the hoursof 07.30 to 19.30 and Sunday 2 June between the hours of 07.30 to 22.00.
Outside of these times the road will remain open.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 20 May 2024 and continue until 4 June 2024

When will the works be completed?

Approximately 13 days to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

During our preparation (civil works) and road marking phase of works, temporary traffic signals will be in operation between the hours of 9am to 15.00pm

To safely complete the carriageway surfacing phase of works, we will be undertaking this works during the school holidays. This will help to minimise disruption to the local area, in particular when traffic volumes are reduced, enabling the works to be completed as soon as possible.

For the number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so, however at times access may not be possible within the areas of work for short periods. This is for both your safety and the safety of the workforce.

A primary road diversion route will be in place for through traffic during the closures.

Local signed diversion route will be in place during the closures; along with designated personnel at either end of the closure points to offer assistance and assist with access when safe to do so to residential properties and businesses. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.

Additional signage will be placed at key strategic points, directing members of the public wanting to access the leisure centre during the road closures.

Bus stops along Elliotts Lane will be suspended during the road closures. If you require any

further information about this service, please speak to your bus operator.

During the road closure period, waste and recycling collections will remain the same, on their normal collection delays.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

The works may at times be noisy, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disturbance caused. We’ll do our best to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible. We like to thank you for your patience during this works.

Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location.

Ahead of the works taking place, residential letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details
