What is Perspective Lite
Perspective Lite is a secure web-based application that many schools already access on a regular basis, the Schools Data Team have now turned on further functionality within this site to enable the ability to share secure documents to and from the Schools Data Team.
This will replace the use of the Staffordshire Secure Emailer for sharing documents with the team.
Overview
The vision of the implementation of this new functionality within Perspective Lite is to make it easier to share files and identify files coming from the Schools Data Team. We are hoping to assist school by having the files we share located in one area all together instead of having them mixed in within the hundreds of e-mails schools receive on a daily basis. This facility will also provide an audit trail to show when files are received and downloaded.
What you can expect from us
There is an area for receiving documents which is split into a folder structure much like your file explorer on your desktop, this will contain folders for attendance/pupil queries, School Census information, OR1 forms etc. We can drop folders that relate directly to your school here so they can be accessed at any time. Your school can then download them to view, and they will remain there for whenever you need them again. Each week you will get an e-mail to notify you if there are files available for download.
What we need schools to share
In addition to us sharing files with schools, schools can also send the Schools Data Team files through this facility. You can send the files over to us but then have the addition of being able to see when and who has downloaded the file. It is a lot easier to send files through this method than through the current secure e-mailer.
Files we are asking schools to share include:
- If you currently send the Schools Data Team your attendance/pupil files manually these should now be shared through perspective lite
- Attendance/pupil conflict responses
- Secure pupil queries
- OR1 forms
- EY and KS1 assessment results
Other abilities of Perspective Lite
There are many other areas of perspective lite that are of use to schools: infographic information on your school census, primary schools have access their key stage 1 assessment data and a suite of reports, information on Ofsted etc. These are explained further in the training section below.
Getting access to Perspective Lite
We have provided all Headteachers access to Perspective Lite. We made the decision to make the headteacher of the school the ‘owner’ of the application for their school due to the potential need to share documents that are confidential just for the headteacher.
The headteacher can then set up other users for their school, choosing which permissions within the system they would like them to see, you must include the permission LA documents to enable that use to share documents with the Schools Data Team. There is no limit on users.
If you are the headteacher for more than one school, there is the ability to see all your schools from one log in – you can contact the Schools Data Team to arrange this.
