This new strategy for 2026 to 2029 sets out how we will work together with the Integrated Care Board (NHS) and listen to families to make sure children in Staffordshire get the right support at the right time.
The voices and experiences of children, young people and families have shaped every aspect of the strategy, and we are determined to do the best for local children and families with the resources we have.
We know that the strategy isn’t going to fix everything straight away – over 900 parents, carers, children, young people and professionals told us what is most important to them and where we should focus our resources first - these are our priorities.
Priority 1: Timely and consistent support – so that children and young people get the help they need, when they need it.
Priority 2: Listening to and supporting families – embedding co-production and improving communication across the system.
Priority 3: Nurturing inclusive environments and best practice – equipping professionals with the tools and confidence to meet diverse needs
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of this strategy – especially the children and young people who shared their stories, and the families who trusted us with their experiences.
Monitoring progress
We want children, young people and families to remain involved to help monitor progress and delivery of the strategy.
We will keep you updated on progress and how you can hold us to account for the delivery of the priorities, outcomes and ways of working in the strategy.
A delivery plan will set out the key activities, milestones and responsibilities across the lifetime of this strategy - it will be regularly reviewed and adapted - to make sure that our actions remain relevant, effective, and focused on improving outcomes for children and young people.
