The Community Learning Service offers a wide range of free or low-cost courses for adults (primarily aged 19+) across Staffordshire.

Animal management and care

Mad about animals? The course will explore animal management, animal training, nutrition, anatomy, behaviour management, physiology and looking after animals regarding their health and disease.

Awesome animals

Families are guided through fun, flexible hands-on activities to nurture a love of animals and the natural world. Designed to support child development, health and wellbeing and a connection to nature.

Baby loves nature in the winter

Using the outdoors as inspiration, this online course is full of multi-sensory activities to support you and your baby to explore the wonder of nature in the Winter! Designed to stimulate the senses and encourage an early connection with nature.

Branch into nature

Perhaps you’ve always dreamt of working outdoors, or maybe you’d like to make a real difference to your local environment? Environmental roles can be innovative and varied. This course is a super introduction into how to get started in this sector.

Floristry and Plant Science

This course will cover a wide variety of floristry techniques to reflect changing seasons. Plant Science will underpin practical work. Shared reading and practical visits will be included in the course.

Gardening in the community

Be inspired to develop gardening skills. Work alongside others and strengthen community ties through hands-on projects that benefit both you and your neighbourhood.

Gardening Woodcraft and the Environment

To introduce and help you feel more confident in gardening, wood working, and conserving our natural environment. Complete design and build projects as part of a team with other learners, and develop your personal skills too.
