Helping Young People Who Use Drugs or Alcohol
When a young person joins the Youth Offending Service, we check if they have problems with drugs or alcohol. If they do, we offer extra help.

TANKED – Learning About Alcohol
This is a basic course that helps young people:
- Learn the facts about alcohol
- Understand the risks and how it affects others
- See how alcohol can lead to crime
- Make safer choices
Absolutely Tanked – For Serious Alcohol Problems
This is for young people who drink a lot or binge drink. It helps them:
- Learn how alcohol harms their body and mind
- Understand how alcohol links to crime
- Make better decisions through fun activities
HEMP – Learning About Cannabis
This pack helps young people:
- Learn what cannabis is and how it affects them
- Understand the law
- Find ways to manage or stop using it
Driving the 'Buzz' to Death
This pack teaches young people:
- Why driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is dangerous
- How it affects friends, family and the community
- What the law says
Message in a Bottle – Group Sessions
This group activity helps young people:
- Learn about drugs and alcohol
- Talk and share with others
- Build trust and learn to work together
- Make safer choices
