Frequently asked questions:

Are there set start dates, or can this course be started at any time?

The course can be started at any time and the college offers Distance Learning throughout the year.

Is this course completely online?

Most learners choose the online version of the course, however there is a paper based option if this is preferred.

Are there virtual classes/tutor sessions to attend, or is this a self-guided course?

The course is self-guided study and there is no need to attend. We provide comprehensive written resources to support the learner and there is the opportunity to carry out additional research as well.

What is the course duration?

Courses take between four and sixteen weeks to complete, depending on the qualification chosen (although we are flexible in terms of sickness and holidays)

How is the course assessed?

We have a number of trained assessors that are subject specialists. Once work has been submitted electronically, or by post, assessors will mark the content and provide detailed feedback, with guidance on how to revisit questions if this is required.

What would happen if someone did not complete the course or failed the course?

There is no chance of failing the course because we support learners until every answer meets criteria, no matter how many times questions are returned.

How do we get employees enrolled?

We email across enrolment forms to be completed and then carry out a short telephone induction to explain how the course runs. Workbooks are posted out first class, so a person can be up and running within a day or two of signing up for the course. We provide a fourteen-day cooling off period to ensure that learners are happy to continue, once they have received their resources and looked at the assessment.
