This service is offered by the Health & Care People Team who are the workforce focussed arm of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System. Their goal is to support local health and care services in recruiting permanent staff and they would encourage care homes to contact them before any external recruitment providers.
To generate a pipeline of employment ready candidates they:
- recruit candidates with the right values and behaviours, who may be new to the sector, have personal experience, or be returning to care and looking to secure permanent employment
- complete CQC acceptable NHS pre-employment checks
- ensure that all candidates complete the NHS statutory and mandatory training, which includes:

- contact the Hub (mailto:ssot.icspeoplehub@mpft.nhs.uk) and provide your vacancy information
- they will match your requirements against their pool of candidates, looking at previous experience, location, and shift requirements
- suitable candidates will be offered to you for 2 free “shadow shifts”
- if you decide a candidate is suitable, you may offer them a permanent role on your terms
- there will be no minimum service requirement or financial cost to you
