Social Care Academy for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
The Social Care Academy brings together training opportunities and resources across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent in one easy to access portal.
Eligibility
International care workers are eligible to access the academy if they are:
- aged 16+
- living or working in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent in adult social care or aiming to join the sector
Summary
The Academy has a website containing supporting information for career development, funding for training, resources for training from local partners and resources for staff wellbeing.
It includes training information and links for:
- Digital Skills resources and courses
- Functional Skills courses, such as Maths, English and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Various training available through the academy, including e-learning, virtual classes, and in-person training programs
- Staffordshire County Council’s Community Learning Service
- Staffordshire Connects, details of ESOL courses
- Wellbeing and Recovery College, wellbeing and recovery focused courses
- North Staffordshire Wellbeing College, wellbeing workshops for people in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands
The Academy learning portal hosts face-to-face training events as well as online e-Learning. To access these, you will need to register and set up and account.
