Free flu vaccine for personal assistants

All frontline health and social care workers, including personal assistants (PAs), should get the winter flu vaccination. For the first time, PAs can access the vaccine free of charge through the NHS Complementary Scheme.

How to get your free flu vaccine

  • Visit your local GP surgery or community pharmacy.
  • Tell them you are a personal assistant.
  • Some places may ask for proof. If needed, download and print the identification letter provided by your employer. This acts as your letter of entitlement.

Steps to follow

  1. Download and print the identification letter (provided by your employer).
  2. Ask your employer to complete the letter to confirm they employ you.
  3. Take the letter with you to your GP or pharmacy.
  4. Receive your flu vaccination free of charge.

Local availability may vary, so check with your GP or pharmacy before visiting.
