J - Day Opportunities Cost – What You Need to Know

Before you start, make sure you have a signed contract with the provider. Check:

  • Days and times you’ll attend
  • What happens on bank holidays
  • What happens if transport doesn’t turn up
  • Charges for non-attendance (e.g. if you’re in hospital)
  • Notice periods if you stop attending
  • Extra costs (meals, mileage)
  • How to pay invoices (bank transfer, telephone banking, direct debit)
  • How to top up your direct payment if needed
  • Keep records of contracts, bank statements, and invoices for 7 years
