Alarms / shut off systems / Telecare

There are various types of alarms and shut-off systems designed to detect gas, smoke, and water, helping to keep individuals safe within the home. This also includes equipment provided as part of a telecare package, as well as devices that can be linked to a telecare system.

Cleaning equipment

This section contains equipment that has been designed to make cleaning and laundry chores easier.

Cups, mugs and glasses

Includes drinking equipment that's easy to use and can minimise spillages, such as large handled mugs, insulated cups and cups with lids.

Memo records / Day planners

A range of devices that play pre-recorded messages to give reminders. Includes equipment to assist with planning and remembering route tasks and activities

Drinking support systems

Designed for people with limited hand or arm movement. Seek advice from a speech and language therapist before purchasing this type of equipment, as they could potentially cause a choking risk to some people.

Item locators

This section incudes fobs that flash or beep in response to a whistle or a button being pressed so to alert when an item has been misplaced or lost.

Kitchen appliances

Includes adapted kitchen appliances, such as talking microwaves and hobs. Plus cooker guards that detect if the cooker has been left on or gets too hot.

Labelling

This section show examples of ways you can label equipment that can assist with daily living and identifying everyday items.

Lighting

This section contains alternative solutions for lighting which includes automatic lighting, remote control and wireless light switches and touch lamps.
