Is my child entitled to free travel assistance?

Question:
Is my child entitled to free travel assistance?
Answer:

Children attending their catchment or closest school where the home address is over 3 miles from the school are entitled to free travel assistance.

If your child is entitled to free travel assistance you will receive your pass along with details of the type of transport being provided, times and pick up points by the end of the Summer Term.

If your child is in receipt of free school meals or you are on the maximum level of working tax credits you can apply for free travel assistance on low income grounds. To qualify your child must be attending one of 3 closest schools between 2 and 6 miles.

If you wish to apply on low income grounds your child will need to be registered for free school meals for the start of the Autumn Term 2020 or you will need to provide us with a copy of your working tax credits statement.

More information and details on how to apply is available on the free transport for under 16s web page.
