Admission arrangements

Each school has its own admission arrangements detailing the order of priority for how places will be allocated if it is oversubscribed.

Last updated: 9th March

Community and voluntary controlled schools (maintained schools)

If applications exceed a school’s PAN, places are offered according to the oversubscription criteria in admission arrangements. You can view the determined admission arrangements for 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.

Determined admission arrangements 2027/2028 (September 2027 admission)

Please view the determined admission arrangements for admission year of 2027/2028.

The county council has not made any changes to the general admission arrangements that were determined for 2026/2027.

Any proposals to alter a Published Admission Number (PAN) is indicated within the document.

Any objections to these admission arrangements should be submitted to the Office of Schools Adjudicator by 15 May 2026.

Staffordshire academies, voluntary aided, Catholic, foundation, or free schools

These schools act as their own admission authority and therefore set their own admission arrangements, including oversubscription criteria.  Use our online search and compare to view a school/academy's admission arrangements.

If a school’s arrangements are not listed, it means the school or academy has not provided a copy to the local authority. In this case, you should contact the school or academy directly

Schools maintained by other local authorities

Details of their admissions arrangements can be obtained by contacting the individual school or local authority in question.

Anyone who considers that arrangements do not comply with the school admissions code can make an objection to the schools adjudicator.
