If you live in an urban area, like a town or city and do not have a gas central heating system, and you meet our eligibility criteria , you could get fully funded central heating set up in your home. 

What are the benefits?

  • Successful applicants will get their home connected to the gas mains and have a brand new fully funded central heating system installed in their home.

  • Switching to gas central heating can save households up to £350 each year off annual fuel bills. 

How is this scheme funded?

The £150m Warm Homes Fund has been established by National Grid to support local authorities to address some of the issues affecting fuel poor households. Other funding for the initiative has been provided from public sector partners.

Who can benefit from the Staffordshire warmer homes scheme?

You could be eligible to benefit from the scheme if you are:

in receipt of means tested or disability benefit listed below:

  • Child or Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Gaurentee Credit - you will not be eligible if you only claim Pension Savings Credit
  • Income support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carer's Allowance
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefits
  • War Pensions Mobility Supplement
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment
  • Child Benefit (subject to income cap)
