A527 Brampton Road, Newcastle

Together with Amey are be carrying out drainage, footway and carriageway resurfacing along the A527 Brampton Road/Sandy Lane/Wulston Drive roundabout, Newcastle. Pedestrian crossing points will be improved as part of the works.

When are the works taking place?

The scheme started on 19th Feb 2018.

When will the works be completed?

The programmed completion date is late March 2018.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Temporary traffic signals will be in use throughout the works during day times.From 19th March the road will be closed at night times for 200 metres in each direction from the roundabout from 19:00 to 07:00 each night to allow the carriageway resurfacing to take place. This will last for two weeks.

Vehicular access to properties will be limited at certain times, residents and businesses will be advised as works progress.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, it is expected that delays will be experienced.

  • Please drive appropriately through the works.
  • Please adhere to the road closures at all times.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
