Public inquiry proceedings

What happened?

A Public Inquiry was convened in April and May 2015 and conducted by Ian Jenkins, an independent Inspector appointed by the Planning Inspectorate. 

After hearing evidence from Staffordshire County Council and statutory objectors affected by the proposed junction works, Mr Jenkins compiled a report for the Secretary of State for Transport recommending that the Orders applied for be confirmed. This was duly done and the land involved is in the process of being acquired.
