Road Safety Campaigns

Do you know your speed limits? Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership can provide information on speed limits, consequences of speeding and information on safety camera operations.

Throughout the year, the Road Safety and Sustainable Travel Unit co-ordinate a number of campaigns targetting vulnerable road user groups as part of its road casualty reduction strategy

Fatal Four

Don’t put your life or your mates at risk. Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership and the County Council target these four topics as part of their campaign for 2015.

Just a few extra MPH can make all the difference to your reaction and braking distances. Speed limits are not targets. Slow down!

Drink/Drug Driving

Any alcohol impairs your driving and the same goes for drugs; even prescription drugs can slow your thinking and reaction times. Don’t drink/drug drive

No matter how short your journey, always wear a seatbelt. Doing so cuts the chance of being killed in a crash by up to 50%. Belt up.

Mobile Phones

Your reaction times are halved if you use a mobile whilst driving. Switch it off before you drive.

For further information please see the Fatal Four page on the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership web site.
