South Staffordshire Connect

If you live in South Staffordshire away from regular bus routes, or find it difficult to use standard buses, the 'South Staffordshire Connect' bookable bus service may be right for you. 

It can be used by anyone living in South Staffordshire who doesn’t have access to a regular bus service or who needs a little help in using a bus service because of disability or mobility difficulty.

Where does this service run?

This service operates two buses in the north and two in the south of the district: 

North of the district

Includes transport for places such as:

  • Penkridge
  • Brewood
  • Essington
  • and Blymhill

South of the district

Includes transport for places such as:

  • Kinver
  • Wombourne
  • Pattingham
  • and Perton

South Staffordshire Connect also links to several regular bus services. You can easily change buses and extend your journey out of the district.

When does this service run?

  • Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm
    Note: there are home to school journeys on all four buses for just over an hour every morning and mid-afternoon. During these times the buses will be unavailable for public bookings.

  • Saturday 10am to 4pm

If you use the service but want to return out of operating hours you will need to arrange alternative transport for your return trip.

How much does it cost?

  • Concessionary bus pass holders
    £1.50 single or £2.50 return

  • Adults
    £2.50 single or £3.50 return

  • Children aged 11 and over
    £1.50 single or £2.50 return

  • Children under 11 and Your Staffordshire Card holders (11-15 years)
    £1.20 per journey

  • Your Staffordshire Card holders (16-19 years)
    £1.30 per journey.

How do I book?

Booking lines are open Monday to Friday: 8:00am and 5:00pm

Journeys are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

North of the district

If you live in the north of the district you will need to book with West Midlands Special Needs Transport on 0333 2400 387.

South of the district

If you live in the south of the district you will need to book with Community Transport on: 01902 491 209.

Accessibility

If you need extra help to get on board, all of the drivers are trained to take excellent care of you. They will make sure you get from your front door onto the bus and back again safely.

All four buses are able to accommodate wheelchairs.
