DfE NPQ Funding Announcement for Autumn 2026 NPQs:
- NPQ for Headship, NPQ for Senior Leadership and NPQ for SENCOs will be fully funded to participants working in eligible educational settings, regardless of disadvantage criteria
- NPQ for Early Years Leadership will now be fully funded for participants working in Early Years settings regardless of disadvantage criteria
- Early Headship Coaching Offer will continue to be available if the participant is also in the first 5 years of headship & is undertaking or has completed the NPQ for Headship
- Scholarships for all other NPQs will continue to be based on disadvantage criteria
- Participants in settings that are ineligible for funding can access NPQs through school-funded or self-funded routes.
We expect to receive notification of disadvantaged criteria eligibility in June.
There will only be 1 cohort of scholarship funded NPQs in 2026/27. We expect demand for places to significantly outstrip supply again (particularly for SL, SENCO and Headship) and for there to be a cap on the number of scholarship funded places available.
Expressions of interest are open now for all NPQs with John Taylor Teaching School Hub and either Ambition Institute and/or Best Practice Network Programmes via this form.
