Our Legal Services Unit recently updated their guidance with regard to changing pupils’ legal names. We would recommend all admin staff with responsibility for updating pupil records on SIMS.net familiarise themselves with this guidance.
Any school asked to amend a child's preferred name should ask the person making the request to certify that everyone with parental responsibility has been consulted and approves the change. Schools can use the form below for this purpose.
