Who is the course aimed at?

The course is aimed at Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who live in a Staffordshire postcode (not Stoke-on-Trent). It is designed to develop transferable skills in responsible pet ownership and animal care. Learners will explore the vital roles animals play in our lives, including how they support people through work, assistance, and therapy, from guide dogs and therapy animals to animals used in community and wellbeing projects. Practical activities and discussions help learners understand animal behaviour, care requirements, and the positive impact animals have on individuals and communities.

No prior knowledge is needed - just an interest in animals! Explore how pets, working, and therapy animals support people and communities, learn animal care, and gain practical skills through hands - on learning activities at Upper Moreton farm. The course includes a visit to an animal rescue centre.
