Createspace is a combined arts project supporting adults to create the space for the arts in their daily lives.
Createspace has been developed by Creative Health CIC (Arts & Health) with Galleries, Museums and Libraries in Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Staffordshire and is supported by Arts Council England, National Lottery Project Grants Scheme.
In Staffordshire libraries, older adults will participate in artist led interdisciplinary workshops where they will be offered an opportunity to have time, space and inspiration to create art.
Createspace will be led by critically regarded artists who will support people to improve their wellbeing by creating high quality art which will culminate in exhibitions at gallery and library venues.
Createspace builds on the success of the This Way Up project which showed participant's wellbeing improved through increased confidence from producing high quality art works.
Art forms will include drawing, print, jewellery, textiles, dance & music and art works from participating gallery collections will be used as inspiration.
Workshops will commence in South Staffordshire Libraries in the New Year and more information will be posted here shortly.
