Crisis Support Scheme
The County Council has a £15m gap in our finances this year as a result of not receiving monies we were expecting from the Better Care Fund.
We have already introduced spending controls across the whole council, but due to the scale of the shortfall we have also had to look at where we can make savings in some of our non-statutory services, including a range of health, care and welfare services.
As a result the decision was made to end Staffordshire County Council’s Crisis Support Scheme on 31 December 2016.
This is not a decision which has been taken lightly and we have completed a community impact assessment to help us understand the potential impact on people and communities and mitigate this as far as possible. Full details of the decision are available.
