Long distance walks

There are several long distance routes that run through Staffordshire:

The Staffordshire Way

The Staffordshire Way spans the length of the county for 92 miles from Mow Cop to Kinver Edge. The route is based on public rights of way or paths on which access has been granted. View more about the Staffordshire Way.

Way for the Millennium

The Way for the Millennium spans the width of the county for 40 miles, running from Newport, to Burton upon Trent. The route is based wholly on public rights of way, the Stafford to Newport Greenway or canal towpaths, on which access has been granted. View more about the Way for the Millennium.

Staffordshire Tolkien Trail

The Staffordshire Tolkien Trail is a series of three linked walks that cover over 30 miles of the Staffordshire Countryside on and around Cannock Chase. View more about the Staffordshire Tolkien Trail.

Heart of England Way

The Heart of England Way runs for 100 miles across the West Midlands. Starting at Milford Common in Staffordshire and finishing in Bourton on the Water in Gloucestershire. View more about the Heart of England Way.

Monarch's Way

This walk runs for 615 miles using footpaths and bridleways. The walk is fully waymarked and takes you through 2 World Heritage Sites, a National Park and 6 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. View more about the Monarch's Way.

National Forest Way

The route runs for over 75 miles from the National Forest Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire. The Way is divided into 12 stages. View more about the National Forest Way.

Sabrina Way

The Sabrina Way runs for 200 miles from Oxfordshire through five counties to Derbyshire. View more about the Sabrina Way.

Two Saints Way
