How do I choose a nursery school?

Some families are eligible for a total of 30 hours early years funding.  To enquire whether or not a maintained nursery works in partnership with any other provider(s) to provide 30 hours of early years education please contact the nursery directly. 

When can I apply?

After you have chosen a nursery school, the quickest and easiest way is to apply online. Online applications are best done on a PC or laptop.

Online applications have now closed.  You can make a late applications by completing the relevant paper form. You can then either:

2 Staffordshire Place

ST16 2DH

What if I have a problem when I apply?

Call us on 0300 111 8007 and select the option for 'School Admissions and Transport' or email admissions@staffordshire.gov.uk so we can help you.

Are there any other options?

There are other places available for 3 and 4 year olds such as:

  • private and voluntary day nurseries
  • independant schools
  • playgroups

These may offer free early education places. Some of them may be based at a school and may be run by the school governors or by a private provider.
