When will I find out the outcome of my application?
If you have made your application through the County Council's online portal you will receive an automated email on 7 May 2018 notifying you of the outcome of your request.
If you have applied via the paper process the decision will be posted 2nd class on 7 May 2018.
Please be aware that if you have applied to a setting directly, they may have a different offer date.
How are nursery places allocated?
Attendance at a particular nursery will not guarantee admission to any particular Reception Class. Nor will it give any advantage to the child’s application for Reception. Parents must make a separate application for admission to Reception at the appropriate time.
Should there be more applications than there are places available, the relevant published admission arrangements are used to allocate places.
If you need to provide any supporting information for your application to be assessed against the, we will not seek to get this information on your behalf.
What if my application is unsuccessful?
If it is not possible to offer a place at your preferred school based nursery and you have applied through the County Council's online portal your child’s name will remain on a waiting list. The waiting list uses the same admission arrangements as used to allocate places and, if places become available, they will be offered to the child at the top of the waiting list. Please note, a child’s position on the waiting list is not fixed and, if your circumstances change or if there are further applications for places you may move up or down the waiting list.

What if I have a dispute over the outcome of my application?
There is no statutory right of appeal over admission to nursery.
Any disputes over the administration of the admissions policy by Staffordshire County Council will be dealt with under it's complaints procedure. These should be emailed to email@example.com or in writing to:
