2 year olds

Some 2 year olds could receive 15 hours per week of funded childcare over 38 weeks or 570 hours over more weeks of the year, in Staffordshire this is known as Think2.  Families must meet the income criteria and make an online application.

3 and 4 year olds

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to a universal 15 hours per week of funded childcare across 38 weeks or 570 hours over more weeks of the year. Children become eligible from the term after turning 3 years old.

30 hour childcare

From September 2017 some families could receive an additional 15 hours of funded childcare making up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week. This can be taken over 38 weeks or as 1140 hours over more weeks of the year. Families must at least meet the minimum earnings criteria and apply to HMRC.

Funded places can be taken be taken at a childminder, nursery or pre-school playgroup and some school provision
