In 2016, Government introduced a new ‘secondary school accountability system’.
In practice, this means that how well a school supports its pupils and your child’s achievements are being measured and reported in a new way.
The two key measures you need to know about are called Attainment 8 and Progress 8.
Some schools chose to use the new system a year early and have been using it since 2015. In Staffordshire, these schools are:
- Biddulph High School
- Cannock Chase High School
- Cardinal Griffin Catholic College
- John Taylor High School
- Paulet High School
- Tamworth Enterprise College and AET Academy
- The Rawlett School (An AET Academy)
Other schools started using the new measures in 2016.
We explain what you need to know on our new school performance measures explained page.
