Introduction

I was first elected as County Councillor for the Hednesford and Rawnsley electoral division in May 2017. 

This is a dual member division and is shared with County Councillor Bryan Jones. 

My division lies in the centre of Cannock Chase and includes the ward of Hednesford North, Hednesford Green Heath, Hednesford South, Hawks Green and Rawnsley and covers an area of 2634 hectare with a population of 29,100.

£370.00: Funding of a 2 day course for 2 members to attend vital mental health first aid training to include suicide intervention to help the team with crisis callouts they receive.

Tower Players

£375.00: Funding towards professional fees, production of video, iPad, costumes, banners, display boards and production booklet for the touring exhibition telling the story of Staffordshire Miners who tunnelled under the trenches.

Hednesford in Partnership

£75.00: Funding of the hire of Hednesford Park to deliver a free Festival to celebrate the community coming together to share in positive times and entertainment and arranged by a team of volunteers with a fun fair, old fashioned games, competitions, car and dog displays in bringing the community together.

Monthly Alzheimer's Support Evenings Ltd

£500.00: Funding towards room hire for the monthly Alzheimer’s support evenings for the Hednesford Group supporting both the carers and cared for with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Museum of Cannock Chase

£500.00: Funding of development and training for those aged 16-25 to help combat obesity in youth with traditional toys and games for the delivery of the programme of physical activities for the summer sessions.

Community Life Church

£500.00: Funding towards the purchase of 8 catering tables to be used in the coffee shop, where all the local community can get together.

War Wounds and Nursing (WWN) CIC

£500.00: Funding towards a projector, laptop computer, tape recorder for historical interviews and reminiscing, gazebo, tables and banner and feather flag for displays and events for the community to show innovations and development of the changes within society, technology and medicine to encourage social interaction and support a safe environment.

Family Action Cannock Chase Children's Centre

£100.00: Funding of electric cooker to include installation, portable mini oven and hob , microwave, kettle and toaster for the delivery of a 5 week free healthy cook and eat course at South Staffs College using healthy ingredients on a budget for adults and on their ability to care for their children to include cooking meals through gaining skills.

Heath Hayes and Wimblebury PC

£200.00: Funding towards Litter Pickers, Bags / Rings, Heavy Duty Gloves, HI Vis Vests and holdalls to encourage the residents to take a pride in their area and assist with litterpicking events.

Brindley Village Legacy Group

£500.00: Funding towards the design, artwork and production of 500 copies of a book on the military hospital that was on the chase in WW1 and its transition to a village that supported a community for 30 years.

Hednesford in Partnership

£75.00: Funding for a film maker to film the annual Christmas festival in Hednesford and then produce a short promotional video that can be put on social media sites to promote more visitors to the town.

Heart of Hednesford Restoration Fund

£446.27: Funding towards Post and Rope fencing, concrete and ballast, tool hire, wooden gate, interlocking sleepers x 36 and 6 tons of topsoil to create a community garden on the land at the corner of Station Road and Rugeley Road.

The Friends of Hednesford Park 

£500.00: Funding towards Wood, Paint and materials and craft resources to deliver puppet shows to local school and community groups and Split Mask Drama group to provide a living story walk with characters with lanterns along the route at the lantern story walk.

Carers Association South Staffordshire 

£1,200.00: Funding towards room hire, refreshments, resources including food, pedometers, hydration bottles etc, promotional flyers and outside trainers / speakers to hold 6 sessions designed to increase nutritional understanding, basic cooking skills and household management capabilities to provide support for male carers who have just taken on their caring responsibilities.

Wrekin Housing Association

£800.00: Funding for six workshops, transport, ingredients, food and consumables to bring together the school children from Bridgetown Primary and elderly Chasewood residents in an educational environment to improve the relationship that the school children have with food that they eat. The elderly residents will help the children to cook and learn about nutrition which in return will help reduce isolation and loneliness.

Staffordshire Libraries South Central Cluster Cannock Chase

£600.00:Funding towards A Boards, posters for A boards and per library, pull up/roller banners, A5 size leaflets, large banners, tablecloths, crockery and table vases for the launch of Places of Welcome at Cannock, Rugeley, Hednesford, Heath Hayes and Norton Canes Libraries who aim to provide everyone in their neighbourhood with a place to go for a friendly face, cup of tea and a conversation.

Family Action £508.00: Funding towards Room hire, 2 staff to provide cooking activity, 3 staff cooking breakfast / lunch, resources, family support craft activity and hire of sports hall to provide a free Summer holiday club for families with children, which will include breakfast, lunch and a range of activities, also providing information to raise awareness of the support and services in the district.
