Introduction

I was first elected as County Councillor for the Leek Rural electoral division in May 1997. 

My division lies in the north east of Staffordshire Moorlands district and includes the wards of Leek North, Horton, Dane, Manifold, Ipstones and Hamp Valley and covers approximately 32784 with a population of 14,041.

Alstonefield and District Friendship Club

£500.00:Funding towards room hire, speakers, outings, catering and to celebrate the 60th anniversary year of the friendship club for older people in a remote rural area.

North Staffs Rowing Club

£500.00:Funding towards 8 blades for a ladies 8 boat to enable more local people to access the sport with a waiting list to learn to row and older junior 18+ to remain and take part in more competitions.

Leek Breastfeeding Club

£300.00:Funding towards the purchase of Mats, Cushions, Toys and Lidded cups to enable the group to continue running its sessions.

Alstonefield Local History Group

£400.00:Funding towards the purchase of 4 Display Boards and costs of materials to stage an exhibition about the 43 men that went to World War 1 and returned.

Waterhouses and District

£500.00:Funding towards additional equipment pool extraction board, national pool/lifeguard qualification, pool, throw bag, pool buoy to encourage young people to gain life schools including first aid and CPR in gaining qualification.

Ipstones Agricultural Show

£400.00:Funding towards hire of hall and marquee as part of Ipstones Agricultural show.

Sheen Village Hall

£500.00:Funding towards the repair and resurfacing for Sheen Village Hall Car park making a more even surface which will be of benefit to all users and to people with disabilities who attend various groups.

Warslow Village Hall

£71.52:Funding towards two road closure signs and four diversion signs for the community Christmas fayre along Cheadle Road.

St. Michael's Church Horton PCC

£1,500.00:Funding towards the replacement of existing churchyard gates with replica oak gates.

Sheen Parish Council 

£60.00:Funding towards replacement pads and batteries for the village defibrillator.

Disability Solutions West Midlands 

£485.00:Funding towards Volunteer Expenses, training and help towards the telephone and IT costs so that the volunteers can support people with disabilities.

Haregate Community Centre - Community Cupboard 

£100.00:Funding towards volunteers to be trained in food safety.

U3A Bowls Club 

£1,000.00:Funding towards two new specialist long indoor bowls mats to help with the growing membership.
