Get INTO Cycle Training

Being trained by a professional National Standard Cycling Instructor provides individuals with the opportunity to learn to ride, take your basic riding skills to a new level and reduce your car use to cycling more often. Increasing physical and mental health is a known benefit of riding a bike. Training is available for all levels and ages funded and delivered by Staffordshire County Council’s cycling providers Cyclist Training Ltd in certain areas of the county. Why only provided in certain locations? The funding available to the council is currently linked to infrastructure improvements (new cycle routes) in Stafford and Burton town locations between end of 2021 and end July 2022. At this point we hope that funding will be released to move this opportunity to wider county areas.

What is currently available for adults?

In Burton and Stafford people can take advantage of FREE Dr Bike maintenance classes, led rides and Bikeability Cycle Training at various levels.  We are also offering combined 6 week courses where a mixture of the various levels will culminate in series of led rides. Contact us for information on dates and venues.

What is currently available for children?

For school age children and younger adults Bikeability is provided within schools on behalf of Staffordshire County Council by Cyclist Training Ltd.  Contact us or directly to Cyclist Training Ltd on 01785 818193 for information on how to book and what is provided.

Sharing the road with other users is important for cyclist safety.  Along with our training tips for cyclists and drivers can be found on the Department for Transport’s THINK website.
