Moorlands Connect

There have been further updates to the Moorlands Connect Demand Responsive service, including the start of Sunday and Bank Holiday journeys between April and September with effect from 2nd April 2022, and the launch of the Moorlands Connect booking app.

How to use - Moorland Connect

This is still a great way to get out and about, travel to work, school or college, or see friends and relatives in other villages without using your car.

moorlands-connect-busThe service is available for anyone who lives, works or visits in the area. There is no age restriction. We can accommodate people with wheelchairs, pushchairs or bicycles.

You can catch the bus from any bus stop to your destination or as close as possible, however you must book ahead. The service can be booked from a home address (where safe) if you are unable to access a bus stop.

The service's operating area has been expanded to incorporate passengers travelling from Oakamoor, Alton, Ipstones, Foxt and Whiston.

When does the service run?

  • Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm
  • Saturdays 8am to 6pm
  • Sundays / Bank Holidays 9am to 5pm

During term time the buses will be undertaking school routes so they will be unavailable for a short period of time in the morning and afternoon.

How much does it cost?

  • Older / Disabled Person bus pass holders
    £2.00 single or £3.50 return
  • Adults
    £3.50 single or £5.50 return

  • Children aged 5 to 19 years
    £2.00 single or £3.50 return

  • Children under 5

  • Students 
    £2.00 single or £3.50 return
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Group booking
    £12 return journey for up to 5 adults

How do I book?

Booking via the app is available 24hrs a day.

If you are phoning us

The line is open between 8am to 5pm on Monday to Friday. Calls are charged at normal rates.

Group bookings can also be made on this booking line.

Booking is available on the day but you must give 2 hours notice prior to your journey time. Please remember the "Demand Responsive Transport" option is on a first come first served basis.
