Leek residents can get second Moderna vaccine at pop-up clinic this week

Posted on Monday 2nd August 2021

Leek residents can get their second dose of the Moderna vaccine this week as a pop-up clinic deployed during a recent Covid outbreak returns to the town.

The clinic will be held at Leek Moorlands Hospital on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 August from 12.30pm to 7.30pm on both days and is open to residents who live in the ST13 postcode area. Proof of ID and address will be required.

Dr Richard Harling, Staffordshire County Council’s Director for Health and Care, added:

“We are encouraging everyone aged 18 and over to get both doses of the vaccine as quickly as possible. This is the best way to protect themselves and others from the serious effects of Covid-19.”

Sybil Ralphs, Leader of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, said:

“It was great to see hundreds of local people get their first Moderna dose when the vaccine clinic was set up back in June. I encourage everyone who had their first dose to now book their second and get themselves fully vaccinated. The Moderna vaccine isn’t as widely available as others, so don’t miss this opportunity to get your second dose locally.”

The clinic is only available for second doses of the Moderna vaccine. Further details and how to book can be found here.
