People aged 18 or over who live in Leek or have links to Leek schools are being urged to seize the chance to get vaccinated – in a bid to manage an outbreak of the Delta Covid Variant of Concern in the town.
A pop-up vaccination clinic will run at Leek Moorlands Hospital (Sadler Ward) until June 16 with daytime and evening slots still available to book from tomorrow.
People will be eligible to book at the pop-up clinic if they live in Leek, have a child attending a Leek school, or if they work at a Leek school themselves.
Dr Richard Harling, Staffordshire County Council’s Director for Health and Care said:
“Cases of the Variant of Concern are still rising and this vaccine pop-up is a unique opportunity for young adults in Leek to reduce the risk by getting vaccinated.
“We have been working hard with partners in the NHS to contain the outbreak in Leek and explore ways to protect residents, and it is important that people come forward to take a PCR test and take up the vaccine offer as soon as possible.”
Appointments at the pop-up clinic can be booked online or by calling 01785 898844.
People who work at a Leek school or have children attending a school in Leek but live outside of the town will need to bring some form of evidence of their connection to their appointment e.g. proof of employment or registered pupil.
People are advised to keep checking back to the website as further dates will be added to book once appointment slots have been confirmed.
