Staffordshire County Council will be making its services available over the Christmas and New Year holidays to ensure people get the information and the support they need.
The main customer contact centre on 0300 111 8000 will be open for business as usual during most of the festive holidays, apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Opening times for the contact centre and Staffordshire Place 1 reception may vary and people are advised to check on the council website at www.staffordshire.gov.uk.
The MyStaffs App, available on tablets and smart phones also has information on many council services and can be downloaded free from the App Store and Google Play.
Mike Sutherland, Cabinet Member for Finance at Staffordshire County Council said:
“On behalf of the staff and members of the council we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
“There will always be ways of contacting the council over the Christmas and New Year holidays and our website will have details of opening times. Downloading the MyStaffs App, signing up for our newsletters and following us on social media are other great ways of keeping in touch or getting the latest news and updates straight to your smart phone or tablet.”
Registration Offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. On 27 December Offices will be open from 9am to 5pm and offices based within Burton and Newcastle libraries will close at 1pm on 24 and 31 December. To make appointments customers should visit www.staffordshire.gov.uk or call 0300 1118001.
For library opening hours over the holiday period, people should contact their local library directly. Contact details are available at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/libraries.
Staffordshire Record Office will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at normal opening times on 27 December and will be closed on New Year’s day. County buildings in Stafford will close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and reopen on Thursday 2 January.
The Staffordshire Cares team will also be available during the revised opening times on 0300 111 8010, and the Emergency Duty Team are available to assist with urgent situations outside of the office opening times on 0345 604 2886.
